Where is KAROO RANCHING located?<\/h1>

KAROO RANCHING <\/b>is based near the town of Graaff\u2013<\/b>Reinet<\/b> in the Eastern Cape <\/b>province, South Africa<\/b>. <\/p>

When you book, you\u2019ll be given a location pin directly.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

What is the easiest way to get there?<\/h1>

The drive from both Johannesburg or Cape Town is around 8 hours.<\/p>

It is a long, but relatively easy drive.<\/p>

The closest commercial airport is in Port Elizabeth.<\/p>

The ranch is another 4 \u00bd hour drive from there.<\/p>

A transfer service is available at an extra charge.<\/p>

The little Graaff-Reinet airport is able to take small charter planes.<\/p>

We do not arrange these, however, you would be welcome to ask us to pick you up should you arrive in your own plane.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Is the ranch open all year?<\/h1>

No, the ranch is only open to the public during the ranching season which is in winter & spring (April \u2013 October) <\/b>every year.<\/p>

This is when our cattle drives, ranch rides & equine therapy events take place.<\/p>

During the intense heat of the summer months (November \u2013 March<\/b>), our horses are sent to roam in the mountains.<\/p>

There is no horse riding offered on the ranch during this time.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Do you offer day trips\/ rides on the ranch?<\/h1>

Unfortunately, not.<\/p>

The ranch is only open to the public during our scheduled ranch events during the ranching season (April \u2013 October).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

My partner does not ride horse, can he\/ she come too?<\/h1>

Yes, non-riding partners are welcome to join in.<\/p>

NON -SOUTH AFRICAN CITIZENS <\/b><\/p>

The non-riding rate is $900 USD per person sharing a room (3 nights\/ 4 days all inclusive).<\/p>

SOUTH AFRICAN CITIZENS <\/b><\/p>

The non-riding rate is R15 500 ZAR per person sharing a room (3 nights\/ 4 days all inclusive).<\/p>

Kindly note <\/b><\/span>that the dress code applies to partners too.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

What is the age limit?<\/h1>

Our events are geared to hosting groups of adults.<\/p>

The minimum age to attend a KAROO RANCHING event is thus, 21 years.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?<\/h1>

Yes, for stock handling & photographic purposes a strict dress code is adhered to.<\/p>

There is a small shop on the ranch that stocks various items.<\/p>

It is however, advised that you bring your gear that is well worn in.<\/p>

      PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY<\/h1>

      During our events a professional photographer is tasked with photographing the event.<\/p>

      This imagery is then given to guests as a gift, as a fond reminder of their time spent at KAROO RANCHING.<\/p>

      Guests are invited to embrace the experience, the dress code suggested and be fully present without needing to snap away on their cell phones.<\/p>

      For this reason, we kindly request that no cell phones are used outside of the ranch accommodation.<\/p>

      Wi-Fi access is only available in the ranch accommodation too.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      RANCH FOOD<\/h1>

      Food is a big deal for us.<\/p>

      \u00a0Especially homegrown and locally sourced produce.<\/p>

      All our meat and vegetables are grown on the farm and all meals, desserts, breads, snacks, jams and sauces are homemade, with love.<\/p>

      The recipes that we use, have been passed down from our great grandmothers, grandmothers, mothers and aunts, who were the true pioneers of traditional Karoo cuisine.<\/p>

      We proudly uphold these values of wholesomeness and generous Karoo hospitality.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      SPECIAL FOOD NEEDS<\/h1>

      Our number one objective is for guests to feel welcome, well catered for and happy when visiting us at KAROO RANCHING.<\/p>

      We acknowledge that due to health reasons or personal choice, some guests will require special foods to be made.<\/p>

      We are most willing to accommodate guests in this regard, however, depending on the guest\u2019s dietary requirements an additional fee will be charged for a special needs diet, as often it requires special ingredients to be bought and extra time invested in making completely separate meals for an individual guest.<\/p>
